one foot in front of the other

Just checked and the PAPERBACK edition of "The Patch of Red Velvet" is now available on Amazon.com.  It's a big step, but the bumpier road is still ahead.  In this crazy, competitive world, getting someone to notice that you have something to offer is always the more difficult job.

As an actor, I see and experience competition first hand.  I'm usually looking at my competition across the stage or in the green room.  As a writer, I experience it on a much different level.  There, it's all about getting someone to take the time to sit and read your story.  You have to focus on the audience you hope to reach and then time your release just right so they actually have the time to look at and enjoy the read.  In this noisy, busy world, that's not easy, but without
an audience for the story writing a book is just so much shouting into the hurricane.  Writers and all artists have a desperate need to communicate- even more so than normal humans. Unless they are total egotists and just long to hear their own voice.  So, the opportunity for the work to be seen or read is essential in their overall satisfaction with the accomplishment. That said, it means; 'to market, to market, I go'.
